Victoria offers students the opportunity to rehearse weekly and perform at local venues, as a small ensemble, such as; a 4 - 6 piece band or orchestra.

SMALL GROUP ENSEMBLES

Beginning Saturday, July 7, 2018, students have the option to participate in small ensembles of 4 or more on a weekly basis, and perform at summer and winter recitals and other live music venues. Weekly Small Ensemble provides the experience of playing in harmony and in time with four or more musicians and/or vocalists. Ensembles can be any combination of string, piano or keyboard, wind, guitar, bass, drums, or percussion instruments.

Students must be able to read music and have a good foundation and mastery of their instrument, and are required to audition.

Required number of participants: 4 or more

Tuition: $150 per month with a minimum committment of two months. ($300 payable in two monthly installments of $150.) Students who are already enrolled in weekly private lessons on a monthly basis with Victoria Hammill receive a 20% discount on tuition for small group ensembles.

SUMMER GROUP ENRICHMENT CLASSES

"Singing Lessons for Little Singers" is a fun and engaging group class for pre-school age children and parents, which is currently being offered on Monday afternoons by Victoria Hammill at Round Rock Music, Round Rock, Texas, through Summer 2018.

Parents and/or guardians are required to purchase the "Singing Lessons for Little Singers: Level A - Very Young Beginner Series" book online through Amazon, or ordered through Round Rock Music when registering.

Sing-a-long tracks for each song can be downloaded at no charge, for practice time at home between classess,

"Indian Melodies: For Violin" presents North and South Indian music in staff notation to whet the appetite of discerning western violin players.

This one week summer camp which gives a preliminary guide to posture, tone, tuning, and ornamentation for Indian Violin is now being offered by Victoria Hammill at Round Rock Music, Round Rock, Texas, from Monday, July 30, 2018, through Friday, August 3, 2018, daily from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

To enroll, all students must have mastery of the violin at or above the intermediate level. 

Required repertoire: “Indian Melodies for Violin” with CD, by Candida Connolly (Author), Hal Leonard (Creator), published by Schott, which can be purchased online through Amazon.com, or ordered through Round Rock Music upon enrollment.

Tuition: $150.

Victoria Hammill offers other group music instruction and appreciation through her cross cultural workshop, The Melding of North and South America, and her Electric Violin Workshop.

VICTORIA HAMMILL: ELECTRIC VIOLIN WORKSHOP & CONCERT

In this electric violin workshop, participants will learn about the electric violin, as well as how to design and enhance their rig with various amps, loopers, pedals, pedal boards, and processor effects using TH2 modeling software by OverLoud, with a laptop and USB audio midi interface. Various electric violin bowing techniques, slides, hammer-ons, rakes, etc., are also demonstrated, and participants have the opportunity to try these techniques out on Zeta Five, Victoria's "number one" custom made five string electric jazz series violin made by Zeta Music. The workshop ends with an electricfied LIVE violin / vocal performance with Victoria Hammill & Zeta Five.

The workshop will be offered in several different formats:

  • 1 day for intermediate to advanced string students, with lecture, modeling, and demonstration of various electric violin stylings and techniques, and instruction with on hands application of techniques for participants during the day, and a live evening concert performane from Victoria Hammill and her Zeta Five string violin with pre-recorded rhythm tracks.   • 1 week residency for advanced string students, with lecture, modeling, and 2 - 3 planned trips to local retail and/or rental music stores to give each participant on hands experience of designing their own personal rig, as well as group master classes, and a live evening concert with Victoria and her Zeta Five with pre-recorded rhythm tracks.   • 2 week residency for advanced string students, with lecture, modeling, and 2 - 3 planned trips to local retail and/or rental music stores to give each participant the experience of designing their own personal rig, as well as group master classes, and a live evening concert with the Victoria & Zeta Five Duo. THE MELDING OF NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA SPRING & FALL WORKSHOP SERIES

In this workshop series, participants learn about the historical development of music in North and South America through story, demonstration, instruction, and expression.   Various music genres, such as; rock, blues, rhythm and blues, jazz, fusion, funk, classical, folk, and Latin / Brazilian, and more, are illustrated through voice, electric and acoustic violin / fiddle, guitar, drums & percussion.  Participants are also taught the parts of the violin, how to rosin and hold the bow and violin properly, how to play open strings, how to tune the instrument, how to take care of the instrument properly, and learn the differences between acoustic and electric violin, in particular, amplification and effects. Similarly, the guitar and open chords and strumming, the piano, and voice with sight singing and easy vocalizations to relax the vocal chords for low, mid, and high range, and breathing techniques are also introduced. In addition, participants have the opportunity to learn and play signature rhythms native to North and South America with various percussive instruments.  The series ends with a live concert performance of originals from Victoria & Zeta Five.

The workshop will be offered in three different formats:

  • 8 classes (once a week for eight weeks) on weekdays, for pre-schoolers, kindergartners, and first graders.

For local group ensembles, payment is due in full the first day of each month.

For the Electric Violin Workshop & Concert and the Melding of North and South America Workshop Series, a $100 deposit is required to reserve a slot, and payment in full is required 21 business days prior to the workshop start day online or with cash, check, or money order. 100% money back guarantee for cancellations made within 5 or more business days prior to first day of the workshop.
